Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Union County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search signifies agreement to these conditions. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no affiliation with Union County, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, or any government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This is a record-location resource, not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operated independently of government. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve government files, perform official background checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its purpose is to identify Union County and Kentucky record custodians, including the sheriff, criminal courts, Kentucky State Police Records Branch, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on the following restrictions. You may not:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar collection tools
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
  • Interfere with site availability or another visitor's access
  • Rely on site content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Violate federal, Kentucky, or local law through use of the website

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Kentucky registry information warrants particular care. KSP states that harassment based on Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry data may violate KRS 525.070 or 525.080. Registry information supports safety awareness and does not authorize vigilantism or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Site and partner data must not be used to:

  • Set insurance eligibility or premiums
  • Assess a person for employment
  • Make a credit or lending decision
  • Evaluate an applicant for housing
  • Determine eligibility where the FCRA applies

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider or appropriate official process, not from this website.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Kentucky attorney can advise how a Union County charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to a particular situation.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." We make no guarantee that:

  • Partner search results are complete or correctly matched
  • Information is always current, complete, or accurate
  • The website will operate without interruption
  • Pages contain no errors, bugs, or security weaknesses

Criminal records can change through filings, dismissals, corrections, sealing, and expungement. Gaps may occur, and no site content is an official statement of a court, sheriff, or other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, Kentucky court systems, state agencies, legal-aid resources, and outside search providers. We do not control those services or accept responsibility for their content, availability, privacy practices, or fees. Their own terms govern use.

8. Intellectual Property

Union County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal actions caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms. Any dispute related to website use must be brought in a court located in Kentucky. Public-record access to Union County executive-branch agencies is separately governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, including applicable exemptions in KRS 61.878.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
